WAS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR EDUCTIONAL (CHILD CARE) PURPOSES, INCLUDING THE ASSISTANCE OF THE LOW INCOME CHILD CARE CENTERS IN OBTAINING FEDERAL FUNDS TO IMPROVE NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF CHILDREN BY ASSISTING IN PROGRAM APPROVAL, TRAINING AND MONITORING OF THE CHILD CARE FEEDING PROGRAMS.

THE AGENCY HAS A SINGLE SOURCE OF REVENUE. IT ALLOWS DAYCARE CENTERS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE CHILDREN UNDER THE CHILD AND ADULT FOOD PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE OF NC DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES TO FEED CHILDREN FROM LOW TO MODERATE INCOME HOMES. THE AGENCY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AGENCY CONTRACTS WITH AREA DAYCARE CENTERS TO ADMINISTER REIMBURSEMENT FOR ELIGIBLE HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES, VERIFYING THE ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS. THE AGENCY AVERAGES OVER 98 DAYCARE CENTERS EACH SERVICING AN AVERAGE OF 1,000 TO 1,500 MEALS AND SNACKS PER MONTH TO DESERVING CHILDREN.
