THE MISSION OF THE FRIENDS OF THE ROBERT AND PEARL SEYMOUR CENTER, INC. IS TO PROMOTE THE WELL-BEING OF ALL PERSONS AGE 55 AND OLDER IN ORANGE COUNTY BY SUPPORTING THE EFFECTIVE USE OF THE CENTER. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS MISSION, THE BOARD OF THIS TAX-EXEMPT CORPORATION SOLICITS AND RECEIVES FUNDS AND OTHER SUPPORT TO ASSIST THE SEYMOUR CENTER IN ACCOMPLISHING ITS GOALS. THE BOARD WORKS WITH AND SUPPLEMENTS THE EFFORTS OF THE ORANGE COUNTY DEPARTMENT ON AGING, THE CHAPEL HILL PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION, THE CARRBORO PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND SEVERAL OTHER PUBLIC AND PRIVATE AGENCIES SERVING SENIORS IN THE AREA.
