Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY THROUGH THE ARTS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE BLUFF MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL BEGAN AS A COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT TO RAISE FUNDS TO HALT THE CLEAR CUTTING OF BLUFF MOUNTAIN. IN 2021 WE PRODUCED A VIRTUAL FESTIVAL AS GATHERING WAS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. IT DID NOT RAISE MUCH MONEY. WE HAD DECENT REACH ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL WITH 745 VIEWS. WE ALSO CREATED A FILM THAT DOCUMENTS MANY OF OUR MADISON COUNTY MUSICIANS. EACH MUSICAL GROUP GOT QUALITY VIDEO OF THEIR PERFORMANCE TO USE FOR PROMOTION.
WE HELD OUR JAM (JUNIOR APPALACHIAN MUSICIANS) PROGRAM OUT OF DOORS IN 2021 OUR NUMBERS WERE DOWN ABOUT 50%. WE HAD 25 STUDENTS REGISTERED AND A HEALTHY 15 FOR SUMMER CAMP. WE TRIED TO HOLD VIRTUAL CLASSES. HOWEVER, STUDENTS WERE SCREEN WEARY AND NEEDED IN-PERSON INTERACTION. WE DID OUR BEST TO KEEP THE PROGRAM GOING AND LOOK FORWARD TO GROWING THE PROGRAM BACK TO PRE-PANDEMIC NUMBERS. IN THE PARK. THIS CONTINUED INTO FALL. LASTLY, ABOUT 10 STUDENTS JOINED ON-LINE CLASSES.
OUR CONCERT SERIES WAS SEVERELY CURTAILED BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC. WE WERE ABLE TO HOST THREE SHOWS, TWO AT EBBS CHAPEL AND ONE IN OUR BUILDING. ALL THREE WERE VERY SUCCESSFUL AND GROSSED ALMOST $15,000, THREE TIMES MORE THAN WE BUDGETED. OUR MOST SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMMING WAS HOSTING GALLERY SHOWS IN 2020. WE WERE ABLE TO CONTROL THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING AND PROCESS SALES FOR THE ARTISTS. WE MADE MORE MONEY SELLING ART THAN WE EVER HAVE. WE GROSSED ALMOST $41,000.
