BUILD YOUR CAREER (BYC) PROGRAM TO GET MORE PEOPLE AWARE OF CONSTRUCTION CAREER OPPORTUNITIES BY LAUNCHING EDUCATION EFFORTS ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOLLEVELS, AS WELL AS IN COMMUNITY COLLEGES, AND WITH INDIVIDUALS WANTINGTO CHANGE CAREERS. 14,000 STUDENTS LEARNED THAT THERE IS A GREATVARIETY OF JOBS IN THIS GREAT INDUSTRY AND THAT CONSTRUCTION IS NOTJUST ERECTING BUILDINGS, IT ALSO INVOLVES CONSTRUCTING BRIDGES,HIGHWAYS AND UTILITIES AS WELL.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING - CAROLINAS AGC FOUNDATION OFFERS PROGRESSIVE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONSTRUCTION TRADE CRAFTSMEN, CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISORS, AND EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT. THE FOUNDATION IS AN ACCREDITED TRAINING SPONSOR FOR THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR CONSTRUCTION EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (NCCER). AS A SPONSOR THE FOUNDATION OFFERS THE NCCER INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING PROGRAM. CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS ARE QUALIFIED TO TEACH NCCER CONTREN LEARNING SERIES CURRICULUM. THISCURRICULUM IS MODULE BASED AND TEACHES STUDENTS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ASSOCIATED WITH TASKS RELATED TO A VARIETY OF CRAFT TRADES. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS NCCER CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENTS FOR JOURNEY LEVEL CRAFTSMEN IN A VARIETY OF CRAFT TRADES. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION, CRAFTSMENRECEIVE CERTIFICATION CREDENTIALS FROM NCCER. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS A VARIETY OF SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES. EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS ARE DETERMINED FROM CAGC'S MEMBER INPUT AND CHANGE BASED ON THE CHANGING NEEDS OF THE INDUSTRY. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS THESE COURSES TO CAGC'S GENERAL MEMBERSHIP AND AS PRIVATE OFFERINGS TO MEMBER FIRMS. THE FOUNDATION'S PUBLIC OFFERINGS ARE AVAILABLE TO NON CAGC MEMBERS BASED ON SPACE AVAILABILITY.
