ESTABLISHED IN 1867, NEW HANOVER-PENDER COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY HAS BEEN A 501(C)(6), NONPROFIT PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATION SINCE 1991. ALONG WITH THE NC MEDICAL SOCIETY AND THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, IT IS PART OF THE FEDERATION OF MEDICINE.MEMBERSHIP IN A MEDICAL SOCIETY IS THE FIRST STEP TO ASSOCIATION WITH THOUSANDS OF PHYSICIANS WHO CARE DEEPLY ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF MEDICINE. MEMBERSHIP IN THE NEW HANOVER-PENDER COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO FORTIFY THE STRENGTH AND CAMARADERIE OF THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE VALUABLE SERVICES TO OUR FELLOW CITIZENS.IN 2022, 262 STUDENTS WERE PROVIDED ANNUAL ATHELETIC PHYSICAL SCREENINGS; PHYSICIANS VOLUNTEERED AT THE TILESTON OUTREACH CLINIC ON A WEEKLY BASIS; AND THE ORGANIZATION AND INDIVIDUALS CONTRIBUTED TO THE SOCIETY'S ENDOWED PREMEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP AT UNCW.
