THE MISSION OF ASHEVILLE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE IS TO FOSTER AN APPRECIATION FOR THE EARTH AND ITS' RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT THROUGH EXHIBITS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND THE CARE OF ITS' COLLECTION.

ASHEVILLE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE PROVIDES A COLLECTION-BASED MUSEUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE EARTH SCIENCES, ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND PROMOTE SCIENCE LITERACY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS. AMOS PROVIDED MUSEUM SERVICES FOR MORE THAN 23,000 VISITORS, PRESENTED NORTH CAROLINA GOALS AND STANDARDS CURRICULUM-BASED CLASES TO MORE THAN 11,000 INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS IN 13 WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA COUNTIES AND OFFERED SUMMER SCIENCE CAMPS AND SPECIAL PROGRAMMING TO HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. VOLUNTEERS LOGGED OVER 2,200 HOURS DURING THE YEAR HELPING WITH CLASSES, MUSEUM TOURS AND SPECIAL EVENTS. THROUGH THE EXPANSION OF MUSEUM SERVICES AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AMOS BETTER SERVED OUR MEMBERS AND OUR COMMUNITY WHILE PROMOTING SCIENCE LITERACY.
