THE AMERICAN LEGION IS A CONGRESSIONALLY CHARTERED MUTUAL-AID ORGANIZATION OF UNITED STATES FOUNDED TO BENEFIT MILITARY VETERANS. IT DOES THIS BY PROVIDING A VENUE FOR LEGIONAIRE'S GATHERINGS AND EVENTS AND BY SPONSORING AND ORGANIZING SUCH EVENTS.

PROVIDE MEALS, ENTERTAINMENT AND COMPANIONSHIP TO LONG- TERM PATIENTS LIVING AT THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL IN SALISBURY, NC. THIS ENTAILS AMONG OTHER THINGS PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION (90 MILES)FROM THE HOSPITAL TO THE POST AND BACK AGAIN FOR THE VA VETERANS, MEALS GAMES ETC AND TIME AWAY FROM THE HOSPITAL.
PROVIDE A FACILITY AND SETTING FOR FORMAL AND INFORMAL GATHERINGS, EVENTS, DANCES AND OTHER SOCIAL AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OF FOR AND BY THE LEGIONAIRES AND OTHER VETERANS.
