IN FY 2020-2021, THE WINCHESTER EDUCATION FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO SECURE MATCHING GIFT DONATIONS FOR THE CONVERSION OF THE FORMER JOHN KERR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INTO A CENTER FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS (THE EMIL AND GRACE SHIHADEH INNOVATION CENTER); THE FACILITY IS NEARING COMPLETION WITH A GRAND OPENING CEREMONY TO BE HELD IN THE FALL OF 2021; AWARDED 8 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF $6,500 TO GRADUATING HANDLEY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AS WELL AS 6 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF $20,000 TO WINCHESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS FACULTY .
