THE PETERSON FAMILY FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO HELP INDIVIDUALS OF LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES. THE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN AFFILIATED WITH A CHURCH IN LA ROMANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (IGLESIA AFRICANA METODISTA EPISCOPAL A.M.C. INC.) . THE FOUNDATION BUILT AND IS OPERATING A CHURCH RELATED DAYCARE/EDUCATION CENTER. THE PURPOSE OF THE CENTER IS TO FEED CHILDREN OF LA ROMANA BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL, PROVIDE A SAFE PLAYGOUND ARE FOR THEM TO USE AFTER SCHOOL AND TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO SUCH CHILDREN. THE PROGRAM CURRENTLY FEEDS AND EDUCATES 250 CHILDREN. THE FOUNDATION HAS ALSO COMPLETED THE CONSTRUCTION OF A GIRLS ORPHANAGE ON THE PROPERTY AND IS RUNNING THE ORPHANAGE IN COMBINATION WITH THE CHURCH.
