Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

THE NATIONAL HOSPICE FOUNDATION, THE FUNDRAISING AFFILIATE OF THE NATIONAL HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE ORGANIZATION, IS DEDICATED TO CREATING RESOURCES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES FACING SERIOUS AND LIFE-LIMITING ILLNESS, RAISING AWARENESS AND INCREASING ACCESS TO HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE, AND PROVIDING ONGOING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TO HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE PROFESSIONALS. THE FOUNDATION HAS NUMEROUS INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS AND FUNDS THAT HELP ACHIEVE THESE GOALS. THESE INCLUDE THE LIGHTHOUSE OF HOPE FUND, DESIGNED TO GRANT SPECIAL WISHES TO END-OF-LIFE HOSPICE PATIENTS; CARINGINFO, BRINGING IMPORTANT INFORMATION SUCH AS ADVANCE CARE PLANNING AND GRIEF/BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT TO THOSE PREPARING FOR END OF LIFE AND THEIR FAMILIES; AND THE HOSPICE WORKFORCE EMERGENCY SUPPORT FUND, WHICH PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HOSPICE PROVIDERS AND STAFF WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY EMERGENCY EVENTS. THESE SERVICES ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTORS AND DONORS.


IN MARCH 2021, THE FOUNDATION HELD AN EXCLUSIVE VIRTUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NATIONAL HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE ORGANIZATION'S 2021 LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY CONFERENCE. CALLED THE "VIRTUAL FUNDRAISER," THIS ZOOM EVENT RAISED FUNDS FOR DIVERSITY, ACCESS, AND INCLUSION RESOURCES IN HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAMS. THIS EVENT FEATURED ENTERTAINMENT, INCLUDING SPECIAL VIDEO MESSAGES FROM GUEST CELEBRITIES AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, AS WELL SPECIAL NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ATTENDEES. FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE EVENT'S PROGRAM, FIVE OF THE TOP SPONSORS HAD DEDICATED BREAKOUT ROOM SPACES ON ZOOM DURING THE EVENT, FOR MORE IN-DEPTH NETWORKING AND SPONSORED ENTERTAINMENT. REVENUE FOR THIS EVENT CAME FROM SPONSORSHIPS, TICKET SALES, AND ONLINE AUCTION SALES.DURING THE NATIONAL HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE ORGANIZATION'S VIRTUAL INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE IN SEPTEMBER 2021, THE FOUNDATION HAD A VIRTUAL PRESENCE TO PROMOTE ATTENDEE DONATIONS. ATTENDEES WERE ENCOURAGED TO DONATE TO SUPPORT NHF'S HOSPICE WORKFORCE EMERGENCY SUPPORT PROGRAM.
