OUR MISSION SHALL BE TO TRAIN AND EQUIP OUR MEMBERSHIP AS THOROUGHLY AS POSSIBLE FOR THE DUTIES OF FIRE PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION AND FOR THE DUTIES OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE AND TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY WHEN CALLED WITH DISPATCH SKILL AND DIPLOMACY.

Part 3 - Line 4a
PROVIDE TWO MEDIC LICENSED AMBULANCES WITH CAPABLE ALL VOLUNTEER STAFF 24 7 FOR RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY. THIS PAST YEAR WE RESPONDED TO 389 EMERGENCY CALLS FOR MINOR INJURIES TO MAJOR TRAUMA GENERAL ILLNESS TO CARDIAC ARREST AND STROKES.
FIRE APPARATUS FLEET INCLUDES AN ENGINE A TANKER AN ATTACK QUICK RESPONSE VEHICLE AND A BRUSH TRUCK. ALL APPARATUS ARE EQUIPPED WITH COMPRESSED AIR FOAM SYSTEMS THAT ALLOW THE EXTENSION OF WATER USAGE THREE-FOLD. THIS SYSTEM IS IMPERATIVE FOR OUR RURAL COUNTY WITHOUT FIRE HYDRANTS. OUR FIREFIGHTING INCLUDES WILDLAND DUE TO THE RURAL WOODLAND NATURE OF THE COUNTY. FIREFIGHTERS WHO ARE ALL VOLUNTEER ARE DUAL TRAINED IN WILDLAND AND STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTING. IN 2021 WE RESPONDED TO 82 FIRE CALLS.
COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES CONTINUED AT A REDUCED LEVEL IN 2021 DUE TO COVID-19. A SOCIALLY DISTANCE SHOW-AND-TELL EVENT WITH AN AMBULANCE AND THE FIRE ENGINE WAS PRESENTED AT THE CHILD CARE & LEARNING CENTER. BREAKFAST WITH SANTA WAS ALSO PROVIDED FOR THE AREA CHILDREN.
