THE SCREEN PLAY WAS ADAPTED FROM THE BOOK "THE TRAIL OF THE LONESOME PINE" WRITTEN BY JOHN FOX, JR., A LOCAL AUTHOR. THE PLAY CONCERNS LIFE IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA IN THE EARLY 1900'S.
THE JOHN FOX, JR. MUSEUM IS THE HOME OF THE LATE JOHN FOX, JR. WHICH HAS BEEN PRESERVED AND NOW SERVES AS A MUSEUM AS WELL AS PROVIDING AN ELEGANT SETTING FOR PERFORMERS, BANQUETS, WEDDINGS, ETC.
THE JUNE TOLLIVER HOUSE IS THE ACTUAL HOME OF THE MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER IN THE TRAIL OF THE LONESOME PINE.
