POWHATAN PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES THAT PROMOTE ACADEMIC SKILLS, PROBLEM SOLVING, AND ANALYTICAL THINKING. THE SCHOOL OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, INSTRUCTION IN MUSIC, ART, DRAMA, PUBLIC SPEAKING, ATHLETICS, AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY. POWHATAN STRIVES TO BUILD COOPERATION THROUGH TEAMWORK, TO ENCOURAGE TRUST AND RESPECT FOR SELF AND OTHERS, AND TO INSTILL A LIFE-LONG LOVE FOR LEARNING AND EXCELLENCE. POWHATAN BELIEVES THAT MULTI-CULTURAL DIVERSITY WITHIN THE SCHOOL CREATES THE RICHEST POSSIBLE CLIMATE FOR LEARNING. POWHATAN FEELS AN OBLIGATION TO SERVE AS MANY STUDENTS AND ABILITIES AS THE RESOURCES AND MISSION WILL PERMIT.
