NORFOLK LODGE #38 IS ELIGIBLE TO SEND 3 CHILDREN TO VIRGINIA ELKS YOUTH CAMP FOR 1 WEEK. TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES ARE PROVIDED BY THE LODGE.


ELKS HOOP SHOOT PROGRAM IS A BASKETBALL FREE THROW COMPETITION INVOLVING BOYS AND GIRLS, AGES 8-13. WINNERS OF THE COMPETITION ADVANCE FROM LOCAL LODGE LEVEL TO THE NATIONAL LEVEL TO COMPETE AGAINST WINNERS FROM OTHER LODGES. HOTEL AND TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID.


ELK DRUG AWARENESS EDUCATION PROGRAM STRIVES TO REACH YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY, GRADES 4-9, WITH THE MESSAGE THAT DRUGS ARE DANGEROUS, DISTRIBUTING COLORING BOOKS, LITERATURE AND BOOK MARKERS. PARTICIPATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE "RED RIBBON" WEEK AND AN ANNUAL DRUG AWARENESS EVENT.


VETERANS PROGRAMS INVOLVES DONATING CLOTHING AND TOILETRY ITEMS TO VETERANS IN LOCAL VA HOSPITAL AS WELL AS VETERAN PARTICIPATION IN LODGE CEREMONIES.
