CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION. THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORED 30.5 HOURS OF ACCREDITED MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION AT SEMINARS (INCLUDING THE BENCH-BAR CONFERENCE)WITH OVER 900 REGISTRANTS.
PUBLICATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION PUBLISHED EIGHT EDITIONS OF ITS NEWSLETTER AND MAINTAINED A WEB SITE WITH INFORMATION OF INTEREST TO THE MEMBERS. PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCES BROCHURES IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH FOR PRO SE LITIGANTS, AS WELL AS PAMPHLETS ON HOUSING LAW. SOCIAL PROGRAMS. FOUR LUNCHEON MEETINGS WERE HELD 300 REGISTRANTS), ALONG WITH SPRING AND HOLIDAY COCKTAIL PARTIES WHICH ATTRACTED A COMBINED TOTAL OF 485 REGISTRANTS. ADDITIONAL SOCIAL PROGRAMS INCLUDED A MEMBER APPRECIATION EVENT, FLYING SQUIRRELS OUTING, FOUR PRIVATE CONVERSATION SERIES SEMINARS AND 1 WELLNESS PROGRAM FOR A COMBINED ATTENDANCE OF 372. MISCELLANEOUS. THE ORGANIZATION HAD SEVEN SECTIONS THAT PROVIDED ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR LAWYERS WITH SPECIALIZED OR COMMON INTERESTS.
BENCH-BAR CONFERENCE. THE ORGANIZATION ORGANIZED AND FURNISHED STAFF SUPPORT FOR A VIRTUAL METROPOLITAN AREA BENCH-BAR CONFERENCE DESIGNED TO PROMOTE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE BENCH AND THE BAR AND TO ADDRESS CURRENT ISSUES IN CONNECTION WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE (APPROXIMATELY 155 REGISTRANTS).
PRO BONO LEGAL SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION RECRUITED AND SUPPLIED FROM AMONG IT MEMBERS HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEER LAWYERS TO PROVIDE FREE LEGAL SERVICES TO THE POOR UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CENTRAL VIRGINIA LEGAL AID SOCIETY, INCLUDING SPECIFIC PROGRAMS IN HOUSING AND CONSUMER LAW. CENTRAL VIRGINIA LEGAL AID SOCIETY RECEIVES DONATED SERVICES VALUED AT OVER 300,000 PER ANNUM, MOST OF WHICH INVOLVE JOINT PROGRAMS WITH THE ORGANIZATION.
