AFFI WAS THE INDUSTRY LEADER IN MITIGATING REGULATORY AND FOOD SAFETY RISKS FOR THE FROZEN FOOD INDUSTRY IN 2023. BY CONTINUOUSLY ENGAGING WITH THE U.S. FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA), CAPITOL HILL AND DISSEMINATING FOOD SAFETY BEST PRACTICES, AFFI ACTED TO IMPROVE PUBLIC HEALTH AND REDUCE REGULATORY DISRUPTIONS TO THE BUSINESS OPERATIONS OF OUR MEMBERS. DURING THE YEAR, AFFI FOCUSED ON LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES, ENTERIC VIRUSES PREVENTION AND FOOD TRACEABILITY REGULATORY ISSUES.
AFFI'S FROZEN FOOD CONVENTION(AFFI-CON) AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS BROUGHT CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS TOGETHER TO DO BUSINESS FACE TO FACE, DISCUSS CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FACING THE INDUSTRY AND TO LEARN FROM EXPERTS.
AFFI CONTINUED TO ENHANCE THE PROFILE OF FROZEN FOOD AMONG MEDIA, POLICYMAKERS AND OPINION LEADERS AND PROVIDE TOOLS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMEENT TO THE MEMBERSHIP. IN 2023, AFFI BROUGHT INDUSTRY LEADERS TO CAPITOL HILL FOR THE ANNUAL GOVERNMENT ACTION SUMMIT TO RAISE AWARENESS TO OUR LEGISLATIVE LEADERS OF THE BENEFITS OF FROZEN AND THE IMPORTANCE TO FOOD SAFETY. WITH VARIOUS MEDIA TOOLS, AFFI EXPANDED THE PUBLIC'S AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS OF FROZEN FOODS TO AN ESTIMATED 2 BILLION READERS. AFFI ALSO LAUNCHED NEW RESEARCH AND RESOURCES TO DRIVE CATEGORY GROWTH THROUGH YEAR-ROUND BUSINESS INSIGHTS.
