THE DOC HOLDS CONFERENCES AND SYMPOSIA TO HIGHLIGHT RECENT ADVANCES IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. THE SPECIFIC AIM IS TO PRESENT A ROSTER OF SPEAKERS WHO ARE DISTINGUISHED VIA BREADTH AND CREATIVITY IN THE FIELD OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY.


THE SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS (SURF) ARE AWARDED TO OUTSTANDING ENROLLED UNDERGRADUATES OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES LOCATED WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. THESE COMPETITIVE FELLOWSHIPS ARE AWARDED ON THE MERITS OF STUDENTS' RESEARCH PROPOSALS, ACADEMIC RECORDS, FACULTY RECOMMENDATIONS, AND THEIR PASSION FOR LABORATORY SCIENCE.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES ARE THE DIVISION'S WEBSITE PROGRAM (PRIMARILY USED TO PROMOTE MEMBERSHIP INVOLVEMENT IN DOC SPONSORED SYMPOSIA), THE ELECTRONIC BALLOTING PROGRAM (FACILITATING MEMBERSHIP FEEDBACK), PUBLICATIONS (INCLUDING AN ANNUAL NEWSLETTER), AND INNOVATIVE PROJECTS (ENCOURAGING LOCAL SECTIONS TO CONCEIVE OF AND IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE PROJECTS TO STRENGTHEN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE TECHNICAL DIVISION(S).
