THE MARYLAND ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY (MOS) FOSTERS INTERACTION AND EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AMONG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN WILD BIRDS TO ENCOURAGE THE STUDY AND ENJOYMENT OF BIRDS AND THE NATURAL WORLD, AND TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF BIRDS.

PRESERVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF MD ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES.


YOUTH PROGRAM- PROMOTING THE ORNITHOLOGICAL INTEREST IN AMERICA'S YOUTH. HOST SUMMER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR YOUTHS TO ADVANCE THEIR BIRDING KNOWLEDGE. SPONSOR MULTIPLE YOUTH TEAMS IN THE NEW JERSEY AUDUBON SOCIETY'S WORLD SERIES OF BIRDING. DEVELOP STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TEAMWORK SKILLS THROUGH THE YMOS BIRDATHON FUNDRAISER EVENT.


SCHOLARSHIPS TO NATIONAL AUDUBON CAMPS, WORKSHOPS, EDUCATIONAL GRANTS TO CHAPTERS, AND RESEARCH CONSERVATION GRANTS. DURING THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION AWARDED 8 SCHOLARSHIPS.
