THE CHRP PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED TO REMOVE BLIGHTED PROPERTIES IN CUMBERLAND BY RENOVATING EXISTING OR BUILDING NEW REPLACEMENT HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME BUYERS. THE CITY OF CUMBERLAND, MD HAS COMMITTED TO SUPPLYING PROPERTIES OWNED BY THE CITY OF CUMBERLAND THROUGH TAX SALES AD ACQUISITIONS TO THE NEW PROGRAM. CUMBERLAND NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES, INC. GRANTED $500,000 TO THE ORGANIZATION IN THE PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR TO THE ORGANIZATION DUE TO THE FUNDS PREVIOUSLY BEING FROM NEIGHBORWORKS AMERICA ORGANIZATION AND THE ORGANIZATION ENDED THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TOWARDS THE REVITALIZATION PROGRAM.
THE CUMBERLAND HOUSING ALLIANCE IS A SUB-RECIPIENT FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD CONSERVATION INITIATIVE GRANT THROUGH THE STATE OF MARYLAND TO ACQUIRE A FORECLOSED PARTIALLY CONSTRUCTED SUBDIVISION.
