THE ASSOCIATION OF BOARDING SCHOOLS ("TABS") PROVIDED A VARIETY OF MARKETING SUPPORT FOR MEMBER SCHOOLS IN ITS EFFORTS TO REACH FAMILIES CONSIDERING BOARDING SCHOOLS. TO THIS END, THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A WEBSITE, BOARDINGSCHOOLS.COM, WHICH IS THE ESSENTIAL ONLINE RESOURCE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT BOARDING SCHOOLS AND BOARDING SCHOOL LIFE, WITH EXCLUSIVE VIDEO CONTENT, NARRATIVE INSIGHTS ON BOARDING SCHOOLS AND WHAT TO EXPECT, AND GUIDANCE ON SCHOOL SELECTION AND THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR BOTH PARENTS AND STUDENTS. THE WEBSITE ALSO FEATURES A SCHOOL BROWSER THAT ALLOWS VISITORS TO CONDUCT CUSTOM SEARCHES OF BOARDING SCHOOLS BY GEOGRAPHIC DISTANCE, LEAST TO MOST POPULOUS, GENDER RATIO, AND OLDEST TO NEWEST. THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS A 3-DAY GLOBAL SYMPOSIUM FOCUSING ON THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF CURRICULUM AND THE BOARDING COMMUNITY. OTHER WORKSHOPS INCLUDE THE 3-DAY "SCHOOL IN THE BALANCE - RISK MANAGEMENT" FOR BOARDING SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, A 3-DAY "THIS IS THE LIFE" BOOT CAMP TO HELP ORIENT BOARDING SCHOOL FACULTY, ADMINISTRATORS, AND STAFF TO THE BOARDING SCHOOL WORKPLACE AND ENVIRONMENT, A 3-DAY "NEW TEACHER ACADEMY", A PRACTICAL HANDS-ON ACADEMY DESIGNED FOR NEW TEACHERS AND THOSE NEW TO BOARDING, TWO COMPREHENSIVE 3-DAY RESIDENTIAL LIFE WORKSHOPS (SUMMER AND WINTER), AND A 3-DAY ADMISSION ACADEMY FOR THOSE NEW TO THE ADMISSION DEPARTMENTS.
THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONTINUES TO BE THE SINGULAR EDUCATION EVENT FOCUSING EXCLUSIVELY ON THE NEEDS OF BOARDING SCHOOLS ADMINISTRATORS, ADDRESSING LEADERSHIP, ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT, RESIDENTIAL LIFE PROGRAMMING AND SUPERVISION, ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION, AND OTHER SELECTED AREAS. THE CONFERENCE OFFERED AN ENVIRONMENT TO LEARN BEST PRACTICES IN FORMAL SETIINGS THROUGH WORKSHOPS, CONCURRENT SESSIONS, AND NATIONALLY RENOWNED KEYNOTE SPEAKERS, AND INFORMALLY THROUGH RECEPTIONS, LUNCHEONS, AND BREAKS, ADDRESSING ISSUES AFFECTING BOARDING SCHOOLS.
