ANNUAL PERFORMANCES: PERFORMANCES OF 1600S AND 1700S MUSIC IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN WASHINGTON, DC METRO AREA NEW YORK CITY. PEFORRMANCES INCLUDED IN THE SALONS OF VERSAILLES, PERGOLESI!, AND OPERA BALLET: DE LA GARDE'S LANDRE ET HRO AND RAMEAU'S IO, BOTH MODERN PREMIERES. ALL WERE PERFORMED AT THE KENNEDY CENTER'S TERRACE THEATRE IN WASHINGTON DC AND EL MUSEO DEL BARRIO IN NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK.


COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION: OPERA LAFAYETTE IS COMMITTED TO INSPIRING A PUBLIC APPRECIATION FOR FORGOTTEN REPERTOIRE THROUGH AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. DURING THE FY23 SEASON, OPERA LAFAYETTE PRESENTED EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AT SUCH DMV INSTITUTIONS AS THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, HILL CENTER AT THE OLD NAVAL HOSPITAL, TREGARON CONSERVANCY, AND STANFORD IN WASHINGTON; IN NY, OUR EVENTS WERE HOSTED AT FRENCH INSTITUTE: ALLIANCE FRANCAISE AND THE UNITED PALACE THEATER. WE ALSO HAD SEVERAL SESSIONS OF OUR ONLINE ADULT LEARNING PROGRAM, SALON SERIES, WHICH IS ABLE TO ENGAGE WITH PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THE GLOBE.YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM IS A SUBCATEGORY UNDER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. OPERA LAFAYETTE IS COMMITTED TO THE MENTORSHIP OF TALENTED, YOUNG ARTIST IN THE FIELD OF HISTORICAL MUSIC. SEVERAL YOUNG ARTISTS WERE SELECTED IN THIS CALENDAR YEAR TO RECEIVE COACHINGS FROM EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELD, ALONG WITH DICTION COACHING AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A FULLY STAGED OPERA.


RECORDING INITIATIVE: AS PART OF OUR ONGOING MISSION TO CREATE AND PRESERVE A LEGACY OF REDISCOVERED WORKS, OPERA LAFAYETTE CREATED ARCHIVAL RECORDINGS OF ALL PERFORMANCES WHICH TOOK PLACE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
