THE FLORIDA SIDS ALLIANCE PROVIDES FAMILY SUPPORT FOR INFANTS LOST TO SIDS OR OTHER INFANT DEATH, EDUCATE FAMILIES AND PROFESSIONALS ABOUT REDUCING SIDS AND OTHER INFANT DEATHS, AND FUND RESEARCH IN THE CAUSE OF SIDS. A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH CRIBS FOR KIDS HAS PROVIDED PACK N PLAYS FOR THE DISTRIBUTION IN THE STATE. SAFE SLEEP BOOKS AND RACK CARDS ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED TO VOLUNTEERS AND HOSPITALS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO FAMILIES THAT HAVE DELIVERED RECENTLY.

SUPPORT OF FAMILIES IDENTIFIED THROUGH THESE CLASSES BY OUR "PEER CONTACT" NETWORK, ONLINE SUPPORT GROUPS, INFORMATIONAL WEBSITE, OR FACE TO FACE CONTACT.
PRINTING OF INFORMATIONAL CARDS AND DISTRIBUTION OF MOBILE CRIB TO NEEDY FAMILIES ACROSS THE STATE TO HELP PROMOTE THE "SAFE SLEEP" MESSAGE AS WELL AS TEACH THE PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS METHODS TO PREVENT SUFFOCATION AND ASPHYXIATION IN THE INFANT UNDER THE AGE OF 6 MONTHS. GRANT PRESENTED TO THE BOSTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ROBERT'S PROGRAM FOR THE SPECIFIC USE BY 1) A NEUROPATHOLOGIST TO SUPPORT THE SIDS RESEARCH ENTERPRISE AND 2) CONTINUE A COLLABORATION WITH THE GENETICS DEPARTMENT THAT USES INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUES TO LOOK RNA EXPRESSION OF SEROTONIN LEVELS THOUGHT TO HAVE A CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP WITH SIDS.
