RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AND FACILITIES - SUPPORT TO RENTERS, EXISTING HOMEOWNERS AND THOSE RESIDING IN DEAF INDEPENDENT RESIDENCES, INC. INDEPENDENT LIVING ADVISORS WORK CLOSELY WITH THESE INDIVIDUALS TO HELP THEM DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN THEIR BASIC LIVING SKILLS AND ESTABLISH RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. DILA CONNECTS WITH THESE CONSUMERS THROUGH THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS AND SERVICE LINES: A FEE PAYMENT SYSTEM, A COMMUNITY SUPPORT LIVING ARRANGEMENT, INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT SERVICES AND A NEW JERSEY STATE PROGRAM. RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS ENJOYED VARIOUS SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND DAYTRIPS THIS YEAR. THESE INCLUDED: HALLOWEEN PARTY, THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS DINNER AND VARIOUS DEAF PLAYS. REVENUE IS HIGHER THAN EXPENSES BECAUSE PART OF THE REVENUE IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO INDIRECT EXPENSES REFLECTED IN MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL EXPENSES
EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT - DILA'S EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM ELIMINATES MANY OF THE TRADITIONAL BARRIERS THAT DEAF AND HARD-OF-HEARING INDIVIDUALS FACE IN THE WORK WORLD. AS PART OF THE PROGRAM, TRAINED JOB COACHES FLUENT IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE WORK CLOSELY WITH DEAF COMMUNITY MEMBERS SO THAT THEY CAN SUCCEED ON THE JOB.
