CSAWWA'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS MEETING IS A JOINT EVENT WITH CHESAPEAKE WATER ENVIRONMENT, INC. (CWEA) AND WATER AND WASTE OPERATORS ASSOCIATION (WWOA). THE TRI-ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN PERSON THIS YEAR AT THE OCEAN CITY CONVENTION CENTER MARYLAND FROM AUGUST 31, 2021 - SEPTEMBER 3, 2021. EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: APPROXIMATELY 1,100 MEMBERS AND PARTNERS OF THE THREE ASSOCIATIONS ATTENDED. THERE WERE 165 EXHIBITOR BOOTHS AND 125 TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS. THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER WAS DAVID GADIS, CEO OF DC WATER. OPERATOR COMPETITIONS INCLUDED THE ANNUAL OPERATIONS CHALLENGE; TOP OPS; AND METER MADNESS. ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2021, APPROXIMATELY 85 MEMBERS OF CSAWWA ATTENDED THE ANNUAL MEETING WHICH INCLUDED LUNCH AND PROGRAMMING THAT INCLUDED AWWA'S WATER EQUATION AND A VISITING OFFICER FROM AWWA.
1.) FEBRUARY 10, 2021, HOSTED A CAREER FAIR (JOINT EVENT WITH CWEA) IN BOWIE, MARYLAND. OVER 24 FIRMS AND UTILITIES AND 25 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN INTERVIEWS AND NETWORKING. 2.) THE ANNUAL SPRING MEETING WAS HELD JOINTLY WITH CWEA ON MAY 5, 2021 AT WHITE CLAY COUNTRY CLUB IN DELAWARE. NEARLY 100 ATTENDEES, VENDORS, AND PRESENTERS GATHERED FOR TECHNICAL SESSIONS AND NETWORKING. 3.) ACE 21: AWWA'S NATIONAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD VIRTUALLY. SERVERAL BOARD MEMBERS ATTENDED SESSIONS. 4.) SUMMER WORKSHOP: THIS WAS HELD VIRTUALLY WITH AWWA AND SECTIONS. 5.) REGIONAL MEETING OF SECTION OFFICERS: CHESAPEAKE SECTION HOSTED THE EVENT IN ANNPOLIS, MARYLAND. APPROXIMATELY 60 ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN 1.5 DAYS OF WORKSHOPS AND NETWORKING. 6.) NOVEMBER 9-10, 2021, THE MID-ATLANTIC UTILITY CONFERENCE WAS HELD AT TURF VALLEY RESORT, ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND. APPROXIMATELY 300 ATTENDEES, 40 EXHIBITORS, AND DOZENS OF UTILITY MANAGERS PARTICIPATED IN THIS TWO-DAY EVENT. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS WERE AVAILABLE TO QUALIFYING PARTICIPANTS.
