THE NATIONAL WATERWAYS FOUNDATION (NWF) SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH CAMBRIDGE SYSTEMATICS, INC. (CSI) (AUGUST 2019) FOR WORK ON STATE WATERWAYS UPDATES FOR MISSOURI AND LOUISIANA, INITIALLY. THIS WORK WAS COMPLETED WITH THE FINAL DELIVERABLES IN OCTOBER. NWF'S CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY MET WITH CSI BY PHONE BI-WEEKLY FOR PROGRESS REPORTS ON THE FACT SHEETS. THESE UPDATES FOCUSED ON:- THE INLAND WATERWAYS SYSTEM AND WATERWAYS-DEPENDENT INDUSTRIES IN EACH OF THE TWO STATES AND THEIR SUPPLY CHAINS. THE INDUSTRIES WILL BE SELECTED BASED UPON AN ANALYSIS OF COMMODITIES THAT DOMINATE THE INLAND WATERWAYS TONNAGES IN MISSOURI AND LOUISIANA. CSI SHALL CAUSE EACH OF THE TWO PROFILES TO INCLUDE VISUALLY EXCITING, GRAPHICS-RICH FACTS AND FIGURES ABOUT EACH STATE'S WATERWAYS NETWORK AND THE ECONOMIC VALUE TO THE STATE. CSI FURTHER ADDED:- IDENTIFICATION OF THE NUMBER OF WATERWAYS- AND PORT-SUPPORTED JOBS IN THAT STATE, AND THE AMOUNT OF DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTED MONEY TO THE STATE'S ECONOMY FROM WATERWAYS AND PORTS- EXAMINATION OF THE ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES THAT ARE SHIPPED TO AND FROM THAT STATE THROUGH WATERWAYS, HIGHLIGHTING THE GREATEST VOLUME AND VALUE OF THOSE COMMODITIES, PROVIDING SOME CONSUMER CONTEXT TO THEIR IMPORTANCE- IDENTIFICATION OF THE WATERWAYS AND PORTS THAT INTERSECT OR CONTRIBUTE TO THE TRANSPORTATION OF KEY COMMODITIES THROUGH THAT STATE- ESTIMATION OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF THE STATE'S WATERWAYS AND PORT-RELATED DIRECT AND INDIRECT JOBS BY COUNTY- IDENTIFICATION OF HOW WATERWAYS AND PORTS CONTRIBUTE TO THE STATE'S ECONOMY IN TERMS OF TOTAL REVENUE, DIRECT BUSINESS REVENUE, PERSONAL INCOME AND LOCAL PURCHASES- ESTIMATION OF HOW MUCH TAX REVENUE IN THAT STATE IS GENERATED BY INLAND WATERWAYS AND PORTSCSI PERFORMED THE ABOVE-DESCRIBED WORK FOR THE TOTAL, FIXED-FEE COST OF $41,650.00. CSI AND UTILIZED $24,900.00 OF THE $41,650.00 FIXED-FEE COST TO LEASE THE NATIONAL IMPLAN MODEL FOR USE IN THE LOUISIANA AND MISSOURI STATE PROFILE AND SUBSEQUENT STATES FOR THIS PROJECT. THE FIXED FEE COST WILL ALSO BE INCLUSIVE OF THE ONE-TIME COST OF DEVELOPING THREE TEMPLATES FOR THE STATE PROFILE LAYOUTS. CSI SHALL, UPON WRITTEN REQUEST FROM THE FOUNDATION, PERFORM ADDITIONAL STATE PROFILES AT A FIXED-FEE PRICE OF $6,750.00 PER STATE.
