THE PURPOSES OF THE ASSOCIATION ARE: TO PROVIDE CURRENT INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC RELATING TO SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT OF THE FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES OF NORTH AMERICA; TO PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH PROFESSIONAL INSIGHT CONCERNING ISSUES OF CURRENT INTEREST AFFECTING FISH AND WILDLIFE; TO DEVELOP BROADER PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND AWARENESS OF PROGRAMS UNDERTAKEN BY FEDERAL, STATE, AND PROVINCIAL AGENCIES; TO MANAGE AND PROTECT FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES; AND TO DEVELOP BROADER PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE IMPORTANCE OF CONSERVING FORESTS, WATERS, AND SOILS, AND OF WISE MANAGEMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES AND PART OF NATURAL AND MANAGED ECOSYSTEMS AND AS A SOURCE OF RECREATION AND FOOD SUPPLY.

PROJECT WILD:PROVIDE WILDLIFE BASED CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION THAT FOSTERS RESPONSIBLE ACTIONS TOWARD WILDLIFE AND RELATED NATURAL RESOURCES.


LEGAL STRATEGY:ENGAGE STATE AND FEDERAL LEGAL ADVISORS TO ESTABLISH COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF LEGAL ISSUES FOR THE BENEFIT OF STATE WILDLIFE MANAGERS AS THEY FULFILL OFFICIAL DUTIES IN THE FIELD AND COMPLY WITH LEGAL AND REGULATORY CHANGES. INCREASE MEMBER AND PARTNER UNDERSTANDING OF MANAGEMENT AND JURISDICTIONAL ISSUES. STRENGTHEN UNDERSTANDING OF STATE MANAGEMENT WITHIN THE LEGAL PROFESSION.
