MARYLAND HUMANITIES CREATES AND SUPPORTS BOLD EXPERIENCES THAT EXPLORE AND ELEVATE OUR SHARED STORIES TO CONNECT PEOPLE, ENHANCE LIVES, AND ENRICH COMMUNITIES. TO DO THIS IT DEVELOPS AND MANAGES SUCH HUMANITIES BASED PROGRAMS AS MARYLAND.

PROVIDED GENERAL OPERATING GRANTS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN MARYLAND TO CONDUCT HUMANITIES-BASED PROGRAMS WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON PROGRAMS THAT FEATURED CIVIC DIALOGUE AND ENGAGEMENT.


PROVIDED PUBLIC PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT MARYLAND TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF LOCAL AND NATIONAL HISTORICAL EVENTS AND IMPROVE RESEARCH AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS AND VARIOUS OTHER HUMANITIES DISCIPLINES. PROGRAMS INCLUDED: MARYLAND HISTORY DAY, ONE MARYLAND ONE BOOK, MUSEUM ON MAIN STREET AND VETERANS BOOK GROUPS. THE ONE MARYLAND ONE BOOK PROGRAM SERVED 10,466 PARTICIPANTS.
