THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CORPORATION SHALL INCLUDE THE NONPARTISAN, COMMUNITY BASED MISSION OF EDUCATING AND INFORMING THE PUBLIC AND DECISION MAKERS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF VALID NUCLEAR TRIAD AND STRATEGIC WEAPONS.

THE STRATEGIC DETERRENT COALITION WAS CREATED IN 2013. INCORPORATED IN NEW MEXICO, ITS CHARTER, BY-LAWS AND MISSION STATEMENT WAS ADOPTED. APPROVAL WAS RECEIVED IN 2014 AS A 501(C)(3) PUBLIC CHARITY.THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HAD A CONTINUING MAJOR IMPACT ON ALL PLANS FOR 2021. THE LAST IN-PERSON EVENT WAS IN JANUARY 2020 WITH A BOARD OF DIRECTORS/BOARD OF REGENTS WORKSHOP, HELD IN WASHINGTON D.C. SIMILAR TO PRIOR EVENTS, THE PROGRAM INCLUDED POLICY EXPERTS DISCUSSING STRATEGIC DETERRENCE, MISSILE DEFENSE, AND TRIAD MODERNIZATION. WHEN IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THE PLANNED SYMPOSIUM FOR GROTON, CT WOULD NOT BE HELD, THE BOARD MOVED TO CONVERT THE EVENT TO A VIRTUAL EVENT. THIS WAS A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM WITH AN ESTIMATED 140 ATTENDEES/PARTICIPANTS. THE BOARD DECIDED TO HOLD ONLY VIRTUAL EVENTS FOR 2021 WITH THE HOPE OF GOING TO GROTON, CT IN APRIL OF 2022 FOR ITS NEXT BIG IN-PERSON EVENT.
