ISMR HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO SUPPORT IMPROVEMENTS TO CLINICAL CARE OF SPORTS MEDICINE-RELATED INJURIES AND PATHOLOGIES VIA SYSTEMATIC, HIGH QUALITY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. GOING FORWARD, THE PROGRAM WILL SUPPORT STUDIES ELUCIDATING THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS BIOLOGIC TREATMENTS ON THE WIDE SPECTRUM OF SOFT TISSUE AND BONY PATHOLOGIES TO ASSIST IN ESTABLISHING BEST-PRACTICE GUIDELINES FOR THE USE OF VARIOUS ORTHOBIOLOGICS, BOTH FOR EXISTING AND EMERGING TREATMENTS. AS PART OF THE RESEARCH MISSION, SHORT-TERM AND INTERMEDIATE-TERM GOALS OF THE ISMR ARE TO CONDUCT AND/OR FACILITATE SYSTEMATIC EXPERIMENTS THAT ELUCIDATE THE MECHANISMS BEHIND A GIVEN BIOLOGICS' EFFICACY, OR LACK THEREOF, TOWARDS THE THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT OF A GIVEN PATHOLOGY. SPECIFICALLY, USING IN VITRO INVESTIGATIONS, THE BIOLOGIC CONTENTS AND THEIR RELATIVE CONCENTRATIONS NEED TO BE CAREFULLY ELUCIDATED AND REPORTED.
