THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE PALISADES PARK FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RELIEF TO ACTIVE AND RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE PALISADES PARK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE RELIEF IS PROVIDED TO THOSE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR SUCH ASSISTANCE AND DEMONSTRATE THE NEED FOR RELIEF. IN ADDITION, THE ASSOCIATION PAYS A DEATH BENEFIT TO ELIGIBLE MEMBER'S ESTATE UPON THEIR DEATH. T HE MONEY FROM THE ORGANIZATION IS DERIVED FROM THE NEW JERSEY STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION, WHICH IN TURN RECEIVES FUNDS FROM A LEVY ON ALL FIRE INSURANCE PREMIUMS WRITTEN BY INSURANCE COMPANIES CHARTERED OUTSIDE THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED NO RELIEF IN 2021. RELIEF PAYMENTS ASSIST THOSE QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WITH MEDICAL BILLS AND DAY-TO-DAY LIVING EXPENSES DUE TO LOST WAGES FROM INJURY, SICKNESS OR OTHER INDIGENCE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PAYS FOR COSTS RELATED TO THE ANNUAL CONVENTION, COMPENSATION OF OFFICERS, AND OPERATING EXPENSES.
