THE MISSION OF THE STULBERG INTERNATIONAL STRING COMPETITION IS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN STRING INSTRUMENT PERFORMANCE BY GIFTED ARTISTS UNDER THE AGE OF TWENTY. OUR VISION IS TO DEEPEN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WHILE OFFERING A PREMIER STRING COMPETITION.

THE STULBERG IS AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED STRING COMPETITION AND IS ONE OF THE LONGEST RUNNING COMPETITIONS IN THE UNITED STATES FOR YOUTH UNDER TWENTY YEARS OLD. SINCE 1975, THE STULBERG HAS AWARDED OVER 140 MEDALS TO PROMISING YOUNG MUSICIANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. MANY HAVE GONE ON TO ILLUSTRIOUS CAREERS AND CAN BE FOUND AS SOLOISTS OR HOLDING SEATS IN MAJOR ORCHESTRAS. THE STULBERG INTERNATIONAL STRING COMPETITION TAKES PLACE ANNUALLY IN MAY. ALONG WITH THE COMPETITION, THE STULBERG HOLDS MASTER CLASSES FOR STRING STUDENTS, PERFORMS OUTREACH EVENTS, AND COLLABORATES WITH OTHER PRESTIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. SOME OF THE STULBERG INTERNATIONAL STRING COMPETITIONS MOST FAMOUS ALUMNI INCLUDE JOSHUA BELL, JENNIFER KOH, RACHEL BARTON PINE, BENJAMIN BEILMAN, AND SOOVIN KIM TO NAME A FEW.
