TO INCREASE THE GENERAL BODY OF MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE REGARDING RHEUMATIC DISEASES (ARTHRITIS-RELATED ILLNESSES) BY PERFORMING RESEARCH USING THE DATA BANK AND PUBLISHING THAT RESEARCH IN PEER-REVIEWED MEDICAL JOURNALS. THE CLINICAL RESEARCH IS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE TREATMENT AND OUTCOMES OF THESE CONDITIONS.

BRISTOL MYERS SQUIBB: TO EXAMINE WHETHER INCREASES IN GC DOSAGE IN RESPONSE TO INCREASE IN DISEASE ACTIVITY RESULT IN WORSE OUTCOMES COMPARED TO CHANGES/ADDITIONS OF OTHER IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE MEDICATIONS IN SLE PATIENTS AND HEALTH CARE UTILIZATION ASSOCIATED WITH LEVELS OF GC USE.

MEMS-PFIZER: TO ASSESS MTX AND ADVANCED THERAPY TREATMENT ADHERENCE AND CHARACTERIZE ADHERENCE PATTERNS USING ELECTRONIC MEDICATION MONITORING WITH MEDICATION EVENT MONITORING SYSTEM (MEMS) IN A COHORT OF RA PATIENTS BEING "NEWLY TREATED" (<1 YEAR SINCE INITIATION) WITH PO MTX, MONOTHERAPY OR IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER AGENTS, AND TOFACITANIB, ADALIMUMAB, GOLIMUMAB, AND ETANERCEPT (<6 MONTHS SINCE INITIATION)IN A REAL-WORLD SETTING.
