STEPSTONE RESPONDS TO THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF THE SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BY PROVIDING SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING TO NURTURE LIVES OF STABILITY AND HOPE. OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS ARE MOTIVATED BY THE GOD-GIVEN DIGNITY OF EACH PERSON. STEPSTONE IS A COLLABORATIVE MINISTRY OF THE SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH AND THE ADORERS OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.

SEE SCHEDULE OSTEPSTONE HAS BEEN TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE IN WICHITA SINCE 1995. STEPSTONE PROVIDES TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR UP TO TWO YEARS, SUPPORT SERVICES SUCH AS BUDGET COUNSELING, LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, GUIDANCE ON PERSONAL BOUNDARIES AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER GOAL-SETTING AND PARENTING SKILLS TRAINING. ASSESSMENT AND COUNSELING ARE PROVIDED TO BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO HELP ADDRESS THE LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF TRAUMA ASSOCIATED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. OUTREACH AND FOLLOW-UP SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE NOT NEEDING HOUSING. IN FY 2022, A TOTAL OF 1,444 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED. 33 FAMILIES WITH 66 CHILDREN WERE HOUSED AND THE REST WERE HELPED THROUGH OUTREACH.
