REHABILITATION OF MORE THAN 2577 WILD ANIMALS THROUGHOUT KANSAS. ORIGINAL COVERAGE WAS 9 KS COUNTIES (4500 SQ MILES). RECEIVING ANIMALS FROM ACCROSS HALF OF THE STATE DUE TO COVID & OTHER REHAB GROUPS DISBANDING. VOLUNTEERS: 118; 25,994 MAN HOURS; 1779 ANIMALS RELEASED.
PUBLIC EDUCATION: CLASSES & OUTREACH PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED TO 20,000 PEOPLE. 64 PROGRAMS WERE PROVIDED. EDUCATION UTILIZED BY INDIVIDUALS, SCHOOL GROUPS, PUBLIC AGENCIES, AND CIVIC/SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS.EMPHASIS IS ON SPECIAL CHALLENGES FACED BY WILD ANIMALS INCLUDING INFORMATION ON NATIVE SPECIES AND HABITATS.
MOBILE FIELD WORK: TRAVEL THROUGHOUT NORTHEAST KANSAS TO HELP CITIZENS RESOLVE WILDLIFE SITUATIONS INVOLVING DISPLACED OR ORPHANED WILD ANIMALS AND HELPING ANIMALS WITH TREATABLE DISEASE PROCESSES USING NON-INVASIVE METHODS.
