FUNDING FOR THE LOW-INCOME ELDERLY IS PROVIDED THROUGH SECTION 8 HOUSING PAYMENTS FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD). ABILENE HOUSING (SOCIAL FUND) PROVIDES RESIDENTS WITH A LARGE COMMUNITY ROOM AND ALLOWS FOR SOCIAL AFFAIRS, FAMILY GATHERINGS, AND SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT.
