TO STIMULATE AND ENCOURAGE THE STUDY AND PRESENTATION OF FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

CULTURAL PRESERVATION ENDOWMENT - CPEF FUNDS ARE USED IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING THREE CATEGORIES STABILIZATION OF NEBRASKA'S ARTS ORGANIZATIONS - STABILIZATION CAN TAKE MANY FORMS, FROM UTILIZING A GRANT PROGRAM DESIGNED TO STIMULATE ENDOWMENT BUILDING, OR AS A SUPPLEMENT TO ANNUAL GENERAL OPERATIONAL SUPPORT GRANTS ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE STATEWIDE IMPACT - PROJECTS MUST DEMONSTRATE A SUSTAINED EFFORT THAT HAS BROAD APPLICATION MOST RECENTLY, THE NEBRASKA ARTS COUNCIL UNDERTOOK A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY THAT WILL INVOLVE A TASK FORCE AND AN OUTSIDE CONSULTANT TO REDESIGN PRAIRIE VISIONS, A SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR NEBRASKA TEACHERS THAT PROVIDES TOOLS TO IMPLEMENT COMPREHENSIVE ARTS EDUCATION INTO THE ENTIRE CURRICULUM SPECTRUM ARTS ADVOCACY PROMOTES THE ARTS IN NEBRASKA - THE ARTS ARE IMPORTANT TO THE STATE'S ECONOMY, QUALITY OF LIFE, AND EDUCATION OF ITS CITIZENS THE SCOPE OF THE ARTS ADVOCACY PROJECT CAN INCLUDE THE RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND PRODUCTION OF INFORMATIONAL MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES INFORMATIONAL PIECES THAT PROVIDE DATA REGARDING THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF ARTS EDUCATION CAN BE DISTRIBUTED AT EVENTS AND COMMUNITY MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE STATE


POETRY OUT LOUD - THIS PROGRAM ENCOURAGES NEBRASKA'S HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TOLEARN ABOUT POETRY THROUGH MEMORIZATION AND PERFORMANCE, WHICH HELPS STUDENTSMASTER PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS, BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND LEARN ABOUT OUR LITERARYHERITAGE. STARTING AT THE CLASSROOM LEVEL, TEACHERS ARE PROVIDED WITH MULTIMEDIACURRICULUM MATERIALS TO AUGMENT THEIR REGULAR POETRY CURRICULUM WITH POETRYRECITATION AND A CLASSROOM-LEVEL COMPETITION. NACDC PROVIDES POETRY RECITATIONWORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS IN PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS FROM TEACHING ARTISTS WHO HAVEEXPERTISE IN POETRY AND PERFORMANCE. ALL NEBRASKA HIGH SCHOOLS ARE WELCOME TOPARTICIPATE IN POETRY OUT LOUD


NEBRASKA CULTURAL ENDOWMENT PRIVATE FUND - NEBRASKA CULTURAL ENDOWMENT DISBURSEMENTS SUPPORT OBJECTIVES OF THE NEBRASKA ARTS COUNCIL'S MISSION AND GOALS AS OUTLINED IN THE NEBRASKA ARTS COUNCIL'S STRATEGIC PLAN AND AN ANNUAL RECOMMENDATION FOR THE JOHN W CARSON DONOR-ADVISED FUND


SPECIAL INITIATIVES - THESE PROJECTS AND SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF, AND PARTICIPATION IN, ARTS AND CULTURE THIS PROGRAM SUPPORTS FEES PAID TO CONSULTANTS WHO WORK WITH TARGETED ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND ARTISTS AS WELL AS OTHER AREAS OF ORGANIZATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICES INCLUDED TRAINING FOR ARTISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS TRENDS IN PERFORMING, TOURING, ARTS EDUCATION, MARKETING, STRATEGIC PLANNING, CONTRACTS AND LEGAL MANERS THE INITIATIVE SUPPORTS AND PROMOTES ARTISTS FOR REGIONAL PROJECTS AND ADMINISTERS THE ARTIST FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
