HISTORY OF AFTERSCHOOL PROJECT: THIS PROJECT RESULTED IN THE PRODUCTION OF A 60-MINUTE VIDEO DOCUMENTARY ON THE HISTORY OF AFTERSCHOOL IN AMERICA. THIS VIDEO WAS MADE ACCESSIBLE TO NON-PROFIT YOUTH SERVING ORGANIZATIONS AND SCHOOLS AT NO COST. THIS VIDEO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION. WE ARE CURRENTLY CONDUCTING A CAMPAIGN TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS RESOURCE. LEARNING IN AFTERSCHOOL & SUMMER PROJECT: THIS PROJECT PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF ORGANIZATIONS AND THEIR STAFF THAT SUPPORT THE EDUCATION AND HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH. DURING THE YEAR, WE MAINTAINED A WEBSITE THAT INCLUDED EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND THE PUBLISHING OF BLOG POSTS. THE BLOG POSTS TO DATE HAVE RECEIVED 446,595 VIEWS SINCE 2010. HOW KIDS LEARN VIII CONFERENCE: THIS CONFERENCE (DECEMBER 6TH, 2018) PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF ORGANIZATIONS AND THEIR STAFF THAT SUPPORT THE EDUCATION AND HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH. THIS CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY 120 PARTICIPANTS. THE THEME OF THIS CONFERENCE WAS MAKING CHANGE: YOUTH ACTIVISM, TECHNOLOGY, AND NEW RESEARCH.TRAINING: WE PROVIDED A SERIES OF TRAINING FOR THE ALAMEDA COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION. THESE TRAININGS TARGETED AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM STAFF AND FOCUSED ON SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, AND MATH (STEAM) ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH PARTICIPANTS.
