IN 2021, THE CHAMP FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO FUND RESEARCH PROJECTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MAASTRICHT, THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA AND UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE. THE CHAMP FOUNDATION EXPANDED OUR SLSMDS RESEARCH NETWORK AND ESTABLISHED TWO SLSMDS CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE, SUPPORTED A MULTI-SITE NATURAL HISTORY STUDY, CONTINUED FUNDING A BIOSPECIMEN REPOSITORY, AND DISSEMINATED FINDINGS FROM THE CHAMP FOUNDATION REGISTRY, A RESEARCH STUDY OF INDIVIDUALS WITH SINGLE LARGE-SCALE MITOCHONDRIAL DNA DELETIONS (SLSMDS).
