FY23 WAS NCCAKRONS SIXTH FULL YEAR OF OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMMING, HOSTING 180+ ARTISTSTHROUGH 88 DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES. IN THE FINAL YEAR OF A MULTI-YEAR AWARD FROM THE ANDREW W. MELLONFOUNDATION, THE CREATIVE ADMINISTRATIVE RESEARCH (CAR) PROGRAM REACHED A PINNACLE MOMENTWHERE THIS THINK TANK GREW TO 19 ARTIST TEAMS WORKING ACROSS 15 STATES. NCCAKRON WELCOMED 60 ARTISTS AND DANCE LEADERS ON THE GROUND FOR THREE DAYS DURING THE SECOND CAR SUMMIT CONVENING IN JUNE 2023.
IDEAS IN MOTION, A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON MARY SCHILLER MYERS LECTUREIN THE ARTS SERIES, RAN FOR ITS FOURTH YEAR - ENGAGING ALEXANDRA BARBIER (IL) IN A COMMUNITYCOMMISSIONING RESIDENCY (FALL 2022/SPRING 2023 ); AND SIX MORE TEACHING ARTISTS BRKFST DANCE(MN), RAPHAELXAVIER (PA), THE ERA FOOTWORK CREW (IL), ANDRE ZACHERY (NY), AND ERIN WEAVER (OH) AS PART OFTHE 21ST CENTURY DANCE PRACTICES CAPSULE SERIES (SPRING 2023). EXPLORING ALTERNATE FORMS OF PUBLICATIONS AND ART JOURNALISM, NCCARKON ALSO DROPPED THE THIRD SEASON OF ITS PODCAST-INSIDE THE DANCERS STUDIO. A NEW LONGFORM PODCAST SERIES WAS ALSO LAUNCHED-HOW PEOPLE MOVE PEOPLE-WITH TWO GUEST HOSTS/ARTIST RESEARCHERS, CARA HAGAN (NY) AND JOSE SOLIS (SPAIN).
