THE BETTER BLOCKS MISSION IS TO EDUCATE, EQUIP, AND EMPOWER COMMUNITIES AND THEIR LEADERS TO RESHAPE AND REACTIVE BUILT ENVIRONMENTS TO PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF HEALTHY AND VIBRANT NEIGHBORHOODS. THE WORK EXTENDS FROM DALLAS AND WEATHERFORD IN TEXAS TO FREMONT, CALIFORNIA; QUINCY, WASHINGTON; SOUTHERN VIRGINIA; AND MARYLAND. THE BETTER BLOCK IS OPEN-SOURCED AND WORKS WITH NEIGHBORS IN A MYRIAD OF WAYS. ONE INCLUDES A LIBRARY OF DESIGNS FOR STREET FURNITURE THAT CAN BE DOWNLOADED AND SNAPPED TOGETHER TO MAKE STREETS INSTANTLY BETTER. OUR COMMUNITY-ENGAGEMENT PROCESS DEMONSTRATES NOT ONLY HOW TO MAKE A BLOCK BETTER BUT ALSO THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT ARE READILY AVAILABLE TO MAKE THIS TRANSFORMATION.
