GRANTS TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT SENIORS: HELP THE HUNGRY: A PROGRAM THROUGH WHICH CRESSWINDS SUPPORTS MULTIPLE FOODBANKS AND NONPROFITS ADDRESSING HUNGER IN GAINESVILLE AND HALL COUNTY. MEDICAL WORKERS SUPPORT: CO-SPONSOR WITH UNITED WAY AND WISDOM PROJECT BASIC MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS, COMPANIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS TO DETECT PROBLEMS AND ISSUES PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT: THANK YOU EVENTS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS AND OTHER PUBLIC SAFETY WORKERS
VETERANS ASSISTANCE - WE PROVIDE ASSISTNACE TO VETERANS OVER 55 YEARS OF AGE AND IN NEED OF RENTAL ASSISTANCE, HELP WITH UTILITY BILLS, HOUSING REPAIRS, AND SIMILAR ASSISTANCE.
GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN/VETERANS SUPPORT: PROVIDES ONE-TIME EMERGENCY FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN. THIS IS INTENDED FOR WHEN FINANCIAL NEED OCCURS DUE TO THINGS SUCH AS ILLNESS, JOB CHANGES, OR IF OTHER UNEXPECTED CIRCUMSTANCES ARISE. THIS PROGRAM COVERS EXPENSES SUCH AS RENT OR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, UTILITY PAYMENTS, CAR PAYMENTS OR OTHER BASIC NECESSITIES.
COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM: IN ADDITION TO AWARDING GRANTS TO LOCAL NONPROFITS ASSISTING SENIORS, CRESSWIND COMMUNITY FUND BOARD ALSO APPROVES AND SUPPORTS INTERNAL PROJECTS THAT DIRECTLY ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR SENIORS LIVING IN CRESSWIND. THIS INCLUDES SPECIAL PROJECTS SUCH AS "HELP ME PLEASE", THE CRESSWINDS BENCH PROJECT, PROVIDING MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND IMPROVING RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES.
