Part 3 - Line 4a
THE ORGANIZATION MOVED PROGRAMMING PREDOMINANTLY ONLINE IN 2021, CAPITALIZING ON THE EASE OF VIRTUAL EVENTS AND THE PUBLIC'S PREFERENCE FOR WEBINARS. LEGACY TOPICS CONTINUED TO BE A FOCUS FOR PROGRAMMING AS THE ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON ISSUES SUCH AS STATE AND FEDERAL SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS THE SUICIDE CRISIS AND THE NEED FOR A NATIONWIDE MENTAL HEALTH CURRICULUM. THE IMPORTANCE OF CIVICS EDUCATION REMAINED A KEY FOCUS FOLLOWING THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S POLICY REVIEW. THE HATCH CENTER POLICY REVIEW FOR 2021 HIGHLIGHTED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ROLE OF FAMILIES IN THE DISCUSSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM. THIS SAME TOPIC WAS ADDRESSED NOT ONLY IN A COMPREHENSIVE WHITE PAPER, BUT IN MULTIPLE OP-EDS, WEBINARS, AND MEDIA INTERVIEWS. BY THE FALL OF 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PREPARED TO RESUME SOME IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES WHILE CONTINUING THE SUCCESSFUL FORMAT OF POLICY WEBINARS.
