AMAZI WATER (AW) IS A TEXAS BASED, CHRIST CENTERED, BURUNDI REGISTERED NON-PROFIT DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION WITH A MISSION TO SERVE AND EQUIP THE PEOPLE OF BURUNDI.AMAZI WATER IS THE PRIMARY IMPLEMENTER OF BURUNDIAN WATER PROJECTS, WORKING TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE ACCESS TO CLEAN WATERWITH THE GOAL OF PROVIDING 20 LITERS OF CLEAN WATER WITHIN 20 MINUTES TO 100% OF VILLAGES.AMAZI WATER IS IMPLEMENTING THE AMAZI KURI BOSE PROGRAM WITH THE REPUBLIC OF BURUNDI TO ENSURE WATER IS AVAILABLE IN EACH OF THE 3,002 VILLAGES IN THE COUNTRY.THE IMF RANKS BURUNDI AMONG THE LOWEST PER CAPITA GDP. POLITICAL AND ETHNIC CONFLICT HAS HAD A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE REGION. AW IS WORKING TO PROVIDE THE BASIC NEED OF WATER AS EFFICIENTLY AS POSSIBLE TO THE PEOPLE OF BURUNDI. 2021 WAS AN EXCITING YEAR. AW COMPLETED 87 NEW PROJECTS OVER 1,500,000 NOW HAVE ACCESS TO WATER WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF THEIR HOUSE FROM SYSTEMS DEVELOPED BY AW. AMAZI WATER IS COMMITTED TO LONG TERM OPERATIONS AND MAINTAINS A FUNCTIONING MAINTENANCE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES TRAINING, PARTS, AND SUPPORT FOR NEW AND PREVIOUSLY CONSTRUCTED WELLS. AT THE END OF 2021, AW WAS SUPPORTING 537 WATER SYSTEMS. IN ADDITION TO OUR CORE WORK, GRANTS WERE PROVIDED TO SUPPORT OTHER LOCAL MINISTRIES.
