PEAS OUTDOOR EDUCATION SPECIALISTS WORKED WITH TEACHERS AND STUDENTS AT DOZENS OF CENTRAL TEXAS SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE NATURE-BASED, STANDARDS-ALIGNED LESSONS AND DEEPEN LEARNING IN SCIENCE, MATH, LANGUAGES, HEALTH AND NUTRITION THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.
PEAS PROVIDED EDIBLE EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGH WHICH MORE THAN 500 STUDENTS LEARNED THE FULL SOIL-TO-TABLE CYCLE AND GAINED AN UNDERSTANDING OF ECOLOGICAL INTERCONNECTION AND INTERDEPENDENCE. STUDENTS ENGAGED IN SENSORY DELIGHT OF PREPARING AND TASTING FRESH FOOD IN LESSONS THAT REINFORCE CORE ACADEMIC CONCEPTS.
PEAS CONTINUED TO PLANT AND MAINTAIN THE COMMUNITY FARM AND URBAN ORCHARD IN SOUTH AUSTIN THAT IS DESIGNED TO FOSTER RELATIONSHIPS AND PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY AND STEWARDSHIP THROUGH EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION.
