Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE BODHI BATTALION IS PTSD REDEFINED PROGRAM. OUR "PROVIDING TREATMENT THROUGH SERVICE DOGS (PTSD)" PROGRAM UTILIZES EVIDENCE-BASED THERAPEUTIC PRACTICES AND MINDFULNESS-BASED CONCEPTS WITH DOG TRAINING TO ADDRESS SYMPTOMS RELATED TO POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS, MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS, ISOLATION, LOW MOTIVATION, AND OTHER CHALLENGES UNIQUE TO VETERANS. THE PROGRAM IS STRUCTURED TO CONNECT VETERANS WITH PUPPIES AND DOGS IN OUR SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE HEALING AND WELLNESS. VETERANS IN THE PROGRAM RECEIVE ONE-ON-ONE AND GROUP INSTRUCTION FOCUSED ON HELPING THEM BECOME MORE AWARE OF PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SYMPTOMS AND ADDRESS SOCIAL ANXIETY AND ISOLATION. THE PROGRAM EDUCATES VETERANS ON HOW WE TRAIN SERVICE DOGS TO RESPOND TO SPECIFIC SYMPTOMS, HOW TO UTILIZE A SERVICE DOG IN PUBLIC AREAS, FIELD QUESTIONS, AND PROBLEM- SOLVE. IF THEY QUALIFY FOR A SERVICE DOG, THEY LEARN TO BE CONFIDENT, RESPONSIBLE HANDLERS TO FOSTER A LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP AND INDEPENDENCE. IF A PARTICIPANT DOES NOT HAVE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, WE CAN ALSO PROVIDE THOSE SERVICES. THERE WERE 10 DOGS IN THE TRAINING PROGRAM IN 2022.
