THE FOUNDATION ENGAGES IN ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE FINDING EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS, AND ULTIMATELY A CURE, FOR DIPG BRAIN TUMORS AND OTHER CANCERS. DIPG IS THE DEADLIEST FORM OF PEDIATRIC BRAIN CANCER, WITH AN OVERALL SURVIVAL OF LESS THAN 1%. THE FOUNDATION'S PRIMARY FOCUS IS FUNDING DIPG BRAIN CANCER RESEARCH. THE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO INCREASE FUNDING FOR RESEARCH, CLINICAL STUDIES, AND OTHER PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO FIND EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS, AND ULTIMATELY A CURE, FOR DIPG AND OTHER CANCERS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO CONDUCTS ACTIVITIES TO RAISE AWARENESS OF DIPG BRAIN TUMORS AND SERVES AS A RESOURCE FOR FAMILIES CONFRONTING DIPG.

RAISING AWARENESS. THE FOUNDATION ENGAGES COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO MAKE A BROADER AUDIENCE AWARE OF DIPG AND OTHER CANCERS. WITH EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, AND CREATION OF A BROADER COALITION OF SUPPORTERS, THE FOUNDATION WILL DRIVE ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO ESSENTIAL RESEARCH EFFORTS. THE FOUNDATION'S WORK LED TO ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FIRST-EVER DIPG AWARENESS DAY IN MARYLAND IN 2016. OTHER CANCERS.
