THE SUSAN HARWOOD GRANT ENABLED JSI TO PROVIDE FALL PREVENTION FOR RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION WORKERS. THE TARGET AUDIENCE INCLUDED NON-LITERATE, LOW-LITERATE, OR LIMITED ENGLISH PROFIENCY WORKERS, AND FOCUSED ON WORKERS IN SMALL BUSINESSES. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOMEBUILDERS (NAHB) "PROMOTING WORKER WELLBEING AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH IN THE HOME BUILDING INDUSTRY"- JSI-NAHB IS DEVELOPING A MORE COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO RAISING AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ARE PARTICULARLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND SUICIDE. THE INDUSTRY RANKS FIRST FOR ALL INDUSTRIES BY HIGHEST NUMBER OF SUICIDES. MANY CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES HAVE NOT YET INCORPORATED MENTAL HEALTH, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, ADDICTION RECOVERY, AND SUICIDE PREVENTION INTO SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELLNESS CULTURE AND PROGRAMS.
