INVOLVEMENT IN UTAHS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:OUR CREATIVE REUSE STEAM PROGRAMS WERE EMBRACED BY 31 COMMUNITY PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT UTAH IN 2021. 156 PROGRAMMING EVENTS WERE TAUGHT AND 1146 POUNDS OF MATERIALS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO 21 ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED. 48% OF OUR IN-PERSON PROGRAMS WERE FREE.FREE & PAID PROGRAMS AND INVESTMENT IN OUR UTAH COMMUNITIES:COI AWARDED 7 MINI-GRANTS TO SCHOOLS AND NON-PROFIT PROGRAMS AND PROVIDED SUPPORT TO 38 COMMUNITY PARTNERS THROUGH VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT, WORK-STUDY JOBS, JOB TRAINING, AND MATERIALS DONATIONS.COI WASTE-STREAM DIVERSION PROGRAM:THROUGH OUR WASTE-STREAM DIVERSION PROGRAM, WE FURTHER INCREASED INTAKE TO OVER 101,934 LBS. WE EXPANDED OUR BUSINESS DIVERSION PROGRAM TO INCLUDE 74 BUSINESSES. 42,023 LBS DONATED BY BUSINESSES AND 59,911 LBS DONATED BY INDIVIDUALS CLEVER OCTOPUS HAD 340 VOLUNTEERS THAT GAVE 11,096 VOLUNTEER HOURS VALUED AT $28.54 TOTALING $316,686 OF VALUE THAT ARE NOT REPORTED ON THE 990 FORM. IN 2021 CLEVER OCTOPUS LAUNCHER OUR NONPROFIT REWARDS PROGRAM: 7 COMMUNITY NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS ARE CHOSEN THROUGH A JURIED PROCESS TO RECEIVE STORE CREDIT THROUGH DONATIONS FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS. A $5 PURCHASE EARNS THE CUSTOMER A $1 IN-STORE CREDIT TOKEN TO GIVE TO THE NONPROFIT OF THEIR CHOICE. IN 2021 $12,811 OF STORE CREDIT WAS MADE AVAILABLE TO THESE NONPROFIT PARTNERS.
