STATE PROGRAMS - DI ENGAGED MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS IN EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS AROUND DEMOCRACY REFORMS IN SEVERAL STATES. DI PROVIDED STAFFING, COMMUNICATIONS, AND OTHER SUPPORT TO GENERATE NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS' PARTICIPATION IN A CAMPAIGN FOR A MEASURE IN HOWARD COUNTY THAT WOULD ALLOW PEOPLE-POWERED FAIR ELECTIONS THAT EMPOWER SMALL DONORS AND COMBAT THE INFLUENCE OF BIG MONEY IN POLITICS. DI ORGANIZATIONS WERE HEAVILY ENGAGED IN A CAMPAIGN TO RESTORE VOTING RIGHTS TO MORE THAN 40,000 MARYLANDERS; UNDER A NEW LAW THAT OVERCAME THE GOVERNOR'S VETO, MARYLANDERS WITH FELONY CONVICTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED TO VOTE UPON THEIR RELEASE. DI AMPLIFIED EDUCATION AND MOBILIZATION EFFORTS IN OTHER STATES, INCLUDING ILLINOIS, MISSOURI, AND NORTH CAROLINA.
