CONTINUECARE HOSPITAL AT ODESSA, INC. (CCHO) WAS ESTABLISHED ON JULY 1, 2015 AS A LONG-TERM ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL (LTACH) OPERATING "AS A HOSPITAL WITHIN A HOSPITAL" AT MEDICAL CENTER HEALTH SYSTEM LOCATED IN ODESSA, TEXAS. CCHO PROVIDES AN AVENUE OF CARE FOR PATIENTS THAT REQUIRE EXTENDED LENGTHS OF STAY IN AN ACUTE CARE SETTING. TYPICALLY, LENGTHS OF STAY WILL AVERAGE 25 DAYS OR LONGER. CONDITIONS APPROPRIATE FOR TREATMENT IN AN LTACH INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: MEDICALLY COMPLEX RESPIRATORY DISORDERS INCLUDING TRACHEOTOMY, VENTILATOR DEPENDENT CARDIAC/CARDIOVASCULAR CONDITIONS, RENAL DISEASE, ONCOLOGY, AND WOUND CARE. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022, CCHO'S TOTAL PATIENTS ADMITTED WERE 241 AND THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PATIENT CARE DAYS PROVIDED WAS 6,935. THE AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS WAS 19 PATIENTS AND THE AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY OF THE DISCHARGED PATIENTS EXCEEDED 29 DAYS.
